The Greyhound combs are handmade in England. They originally started in 1920 and today use the same special technology with the pins that can neither bend nor fall out. All Greyhound combs are handmade tooth by tooth, then polished by hand. The pins are custom made to the specifications provided by Ashley Craig. When the comb is ready for the final finish, it is sent all the way across the Atlantic to the USA, where the durable coating and engraving is applied.
Like everything else about the combs, the finish is also handmade. There are over 20 unique surface designs in the Greyhound comb product range. Each individual comb has gone through 11 hands before it is finished in one of the 20 different varieties. A Greyhound comb is designed to last a lifetime and Ashley Craig manufactures 95% of their products in-house. The owner of Ashley Craig, Ruthi Ashley Stern, is personally involved in quality assurance in her own factory. In this way, she is ensured that only the best reaches the customers.
Greyhound combs are distinguished from other combs by their teeth. They neither bend nor break off, but at the same time they have the perfect tension in the teeth. It has an effect on how the comb slides through the dog's fur when you use it.
You will very quickly notice the difference between a regular comb and a Greyhound comb. It is very comfortable to use, both for you and the dog. It doesn't matter if you have a dog with a lot of fur or almost no fur. There is a comb for all dog breeds and you will definitely feel good using it.
Something that we think is a great detail is that you will experience less static electricity in the dog's fur. This is precisely because of the anti-static surface on the comb. There is also less wear and tear on the individual hairs, and the comb slides easily through the coat, which makes it much more comfortable for the dog. Greyhound combs will make grooming easier and quicker to get through, precisely because the comb is so easy to use. It will also make it more fun for you to take care of the coat.
There are different types of combs, both in relation to the length of the comb and the length of the teeth. There is also a difference in the distance between the teeth. Each individual comb has a more detailed explanation of which combs are best suited for which fur types. You can therefore be sure that you choose the right comb for your dog.
