If you have a double-coated dog, it is a good idea to have good, high-quality tools when you have to care for its coat. With good tools, grooming becomes a more pleasant process for both you and the dog. At GroomUs, we have an exclusive selection of coatmasters who can help just you when the dog's coat needs to be groomed - especially during periods when the dog sheds a lot.
We have a selection of Ashley Craig Greyhound Coatmasters that we are incredibly happy with ourselves. We use these coatmasters ourselves and therefore have no doubts about the quality. We are absolutely sure that you will only be happy with them. They fit well in the hands, are nice and come in the best quality. Their handles are made of wood that is covered with a satin finish that makes it water resistant. It is especially good for you who want to use them when the dog is wet. They are also made of stainless steel, so you can be sure that they will last a long time.
Coatmasters have many small, sharp and round teeth that sit close together. They are most often used to remove the undercoat. They can be used for both wet and dry fur. When you use a coatmaster, it is important that you always do it in the direction of hair growth. Always use a coatmaster with a wide gap between the teeth first and work down to closer teeth. In this way, you remove less and less hair. Coatmasters works best on dry fur or in the wash with wet fur. However, you need to be careful when using a coatmaster. On some fur types, especially dogs with thick fur, it can cut into the top layer while removing the undercoat. Even though the teeth are round, you should still not apply too much pressure so that you do not damage the dog's skin. You must therefore be careful when applying coatmasters on the sensitive areas with thin skin around the hocks, ears, flanks and in the armpits.
If you are in doubt about which coatmaster suits your specific needs, do not hesitate to contact us at groomus@groomus.dk or +45 28 10 89 22 and get personal guidance.
